Hi,
I want to say we don't usually give out reviews a lot. My father has been with this company for nearly two years. I want to say thank you to Shanelle, the front office person, for always trying to send someone out for Dad and compatible with the family. I want to give a big shout out for Marie Clement, Dad's new caregiver that's been with him for about a month. Marie has shown Dad so much care and kindness, helping with PT, baths, cooking, talking and watching movies with him, going on walks, the list goes on. Besides, her checking to make sure the family is okay. This is not an easy job but Marie makes it look less stressful and feel less stressful. With any company you go through pros and cons until you found what works for your situation. Once again thank you to all good caregivers! Thank you, Marie Clement!

Extraordinary experience! I was searching for home care for one of my relatives and called 6 different homecare providers before I contacted Homewatch CareGivers of Tacoma. I wish I had called Homewatch CareGivers first! All of the other companies wasted my time. They did not listen to what I needed, when I needed care, or how our other family members would be involved in the care. All they wanted to do was immediately schedule an evaluation/consultation (different companies had a different name for a visit to our home) without really talking with me about what we needed, when we needed it, etc. All it seemed like was they wanted a “sale!” It was high-pressure sales tactics from these companies and made us feel uncomfortable. Homewatch CareGivers of Tacoma was not like this. When I first contacted their office I expected the same treatment as the other homecare providers. I was so wrong. Homewatch CareGivers spent most of the time on our call educating me and helping me understand what type of care we needed, when we would need it, how much the different types of care would cost, and different scenarios to make everything affordable while making sure our family member had the best care possible. I told them the time frame right up front (like I did with all of the other companies) and they still took the time to make sure I understood the different options available for caring for our family member. This was a long phone call. They were amazing! They did not even ask to come to my home immediately for an “evaluation.” They understood that I was trying to get our plan together and they gave me all of the information I needed (they even emailed me a bunch of information to help us) and left it wide open on when it would be convenient to talk again, schedule a consultation, etc. I cannot thank these people enough. Homewatch CareGivers took what had become a frustrating experience and restored my faith in the companies out there caring for our senior. Our family member will be ready for home care in the next couple of months. Homewatch CareGivers won our trust and this is the only company we want to handle our family member's care.

I first heard Joe Hillyer, the owner of Homewatch CareGivers of Tacoma, as a guest on Rajeev Nagaich’s “Aging Options” radio show. Joe talked about care management and preparing for the day when you need a caregiver. Intrigued, I contacted Joe and was amazed at the depth and breadth of his understanding of senior care and the changing medical system and also senior housing facilities and alternatives. It is eye-opening and overwhelming. Joe broke everything down and helped us map out a plan for the years ahead that is cost-efficient and designed to make care affordable so that we never have to leave our home as we grow older. He has been through all of this with his own parents, family, and many clients and can literally complete your sentences for you as you try to put together and express your needs. No high-pressure sales routines and cost-effective / cost-efficient plans for the long term. What can be a scary subject made simple and affordable. I cannot say enough about the care management team at Homewatch CareGivers of Tacoma. They are awesome!

Amazing caregivers! I can't say enough about the great caregivers at Homewatch CareGivers of Tacoma. Their approach is that a client will always have a familiar face and interact with the same 3-4 caregivers. This is very important when your loved one is in the latter stages of Alzheimer's. They did this and I cannot say enough about the positive effect of this approach. Most companies send you multiple caregivers and you never know from day to day who is walking in the door to be your caregiver that day.
